I've had these antique shoes for years now, and I always wonder how they came to arrive in England as they originate from New York! They are handmade and inside in gold writing it says "Sommers inc, 27th W, 50th Street New York City. In tiny scripted handwriting inside it says the customer's name and order no!
They are pink satin, with gold kid heels and straps, but the double buckle is the prettiest part-it is studded with tiny amber jewels all the way round. Imagine having these shoes specially made to order in the 20's!
***Just an edit to say I've figured out how to use instagram so I'll try to take more photos and upload them to Flickr regularly!! If you click on my Flickr tab at the top of my blog that should take you there! Fingers crossed! Xxx
Another thing I am really fond of also originated from the States! I love vintage Turquoise Navajo jewellery, and have been given a few bits for presents which came from America. The 3 stone bangle is a vintage stamped one, as is the ring, and the 9 stone bangle with the rope edging is a newer piece by A. Jake who I think is a working Navajo silversmith. I love turquoise jewellery!
Anyway, enjoy your Sunday everyone xxx

Those shoes are so gorgeous. I'd love to be able to wear something so pretty and delicate but my size 8 duck's feet are much better suited to boots and flats. Lovely wallpaper too - and a bargain! XX
Love the pretty shoes, I wonder who ordered them and where they were worn?
Pretty wallpaper too....

I would like to wish you, first of all, the greatest year, since so many of your dreams are about to come true and I truly wish you the best, eventhough I do not know you in person; but I guess that when a person decides to share a bit of her life for years with total strangers, and those on the other side decide to follow those flashes willingly, effortlessly and eagerly we kind of become friends. I´m from Portugal, I do not post very often but I follow your blog daily, anticipating with excitment what the news are going to be this time, never disappointing and always revigorated and inspired. Secondly I’d like to thank you for letting a door open for us, so that we could appreciate through the years the way you’ve evolved into someone so inspiring, so creative, so meticulous, so spontaneous, but above all, so genuinely true to yourself. Thank you, for I have also grown with you. I’ll keep on coming here, visiting you, hoping that if you come to my country one day, I’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you personally, opening then the doors of my house to you and hoping that you’ll feel at ease, just like I do, everytime I come to your blog.I invite you to visit mine as well http://cottoncandy-peaches.blogspot.com/
Cheers to you! Keep on being very Happy!
Thank you for posting this. It’s exactly what I was looking for!
