Hello
Despite the weather Tuscany is sublime at any time.. we went in May this year and it was cold and very stormy but stunningly beautiful too.. I think I was a Tuscan in a former life... ohh wishful thinking!
I hope you have many beautiful memories of the place..

Ah, it looks wonderful. I long to go to Italy again. I love that first picture of the view from your balcony. Sorry to hear it rained. My Mum and Dad are in Venice this week and I fear it is raining on them looking at the forecast. So pleased you had a lovely time.

Welcome home Sophie! We have all missed your posts and were eagerly awaiting your return and all these beautiful photos! The carousel is gorgeous, they are so beautiful in Europe! Shame about the rain, but sounds like you had fun, such lovely memories for you :) Thanks for sharing your photos with us all, we soooo far away really appreciate it! There is really no place like home :) Jenn and Jacqui

Welcome Home Sophie!!! I finally remembered the name of the place I thought you'd like, lol but too late now. In case you go again, it was called Busati.
In any case, I adore your photos even in the rain. The first time I went to Florence it was the middle of Winter, end of January and so cold but it's so beautiful it doesn't matter. It was just as beautiful the second time in September.
The carousel photos are so beautiful! I love that the horses have big ostrich plumes on them! How divine!
Oh I'm getting the itch to travel, and your pics aren't helping that itch!!!
So glad you liked your time there, it is my favourite place to go, there's something magical about it and the Arno river at night is beautiful isn't it!
Have fun catching up on your emails!
Natasha : )

That carousel wasn't there a few weeks ago! I know just which piazza that is!

I'm so glad that you had a good time despite the weather. Florence is just magical, isn't it? Sigh.....

PS--so very glad that you enjoy the letters. They can be found in different fonts over here, so I'll keep looking for them!

WELCOME HOME!!! I'm so glad that you had a good time despite the weather.

The pictures are great. Although I was hoping to see you in some of them. Will that happen later (patiently taps her foot)?

We put the house back together as best as we could. Hope your neighbors aren't still mad. Hee hee!

Love,
Julie

Welcome back, Sophie! Thank you for sharing your trip and photos with us - how much fun! I have never traveled to Europe, so it is always a treat to get to visit it through the lens of a friend's camera. "Someday" I am going to the UK! Saving my cash!!

Love the little car and LOL about driving! Really!!?? You don't drive? My granny never drove either - scared her to pieces.

The carousel is wonderful and I find it interesting that it is in the middle of town. How fun is that!? It sure beats the little rocking horse outside of a grocery store that you can ride for a piece of pocket change.

Glad to hear that you made it back and had a wonderful time, despite the weather.

Blessings to you,

Becky

Hello Sophie,
I'm so pleased you are back safe, and that you had a good time despite the weather.
I love your photos,no need to appologise for them they are fab.
I wish there were more shops like that over here,I loved the apples all stacked up.
I don't drive either,I've had lessons but never passed my test. There is a story behind this but I'll let you know another time.
Thanks for your good wishes,I am on the mend but it will be a long job.

A big welcome home Sophie! It sounds like a really fun time and I think the rain and cold was part of the fun in the end. It gave you memories you would not have had otherwise. What a deal with the 7 euro coats!

I love carousels too. Our wedding photos were taken on an 1890s Venitian two story carousel. It was later purchased by Clint Black who used it for a video he made.

Good to be able to visit with you again.

Glad you had a lovely time if not cold time n Florence. It looks like you had a very different time to us. We could not find a hotel, so we ended up driving our hire car out of the city trying to find somewhere vaguely quite to get some sleep. The best thing about Florence was would of the Medicea (how do I spell that) summer houses just out of the centre. It was amazing away from the ques and a guided tour all to our us.

I posted the pram picture, had to wait untill captain rupert felt happy about sharing his news.

What a shame you had such poor weather - Jules and I got a couple of thunderstorms thrown into the mix but mostly it was hot and sunny. We went in September though. You'll have to go back again and see Florence and Tuscany in the sunshine.

Sophie,
So glad to have you back home. Sorry about the rain. My daughter is on her honeymoon there right now. She called to say hi. It's raining, but it's still Italy.
Your pictures are fab!!!
Glad you had fun even though it rained.
Thanks so much for your lovely comments about the wedding.
I'm sure you are glad to be home sweet home.

Hi Sophie, Sorry to hear about the weather, my daughter's friend was there at the same time as you and she says it was freezing! However, the beauty of Florence can't be ruined by the cold, it looks lovely from your photos. So glad you had a good time

I'm glad you had a good time Sophie, despite the rain. I feel exactly the same way you do about returning home. It always looks a little different, and as you said, better than it did before. The "car" is very cute and if it was pink I could definitely see you in it. So happy you had fun and that you made it through customs and the flight - you brave soul you. I know you were really dreading that part. Glad to have you back safely!
