Yellow roses...

Your roses are beautiful. And I share the same granny-ish taste. I figure the people who don't like it are simply gauche, darling!

I don't have any yellow roses to display on my blog so I updated my playlist last night to include "Mama liked the Roses" by Elvis. I couldn't come up with anything else. HA!

Love,
Julie

Oh, Sophie~ not 'grannyish'!
Here in America, I think your style would be considered "girly", not "granny"! At least, that's how I think of it~ very, very feminine and light. Cheering and comforting to the feminine spirit!

To answer your question, a driveway apron (and I didn't know about this, either, till the construction workers gave us the letter telling us) is the little section of the driveway that is also the public walkway. It kind of 'leads' you into your driveway, and ours are kind of shaped like an apron!

Hi Sophie,
What a delicious, glorious, flowery post!!!! Just love it all. By the way, I did the fairy gift draw and you are the winner. If you could email me with you favourite colour I will make a fairy just for you.
Have a rosey week-end.

If your style is granny-ish, then I am in the retirement home with you! I love yellow orses - they amongst other things, symbolise friendship, an appropriate thing for blogging eh?

Have a good weekend x

Oooo I should've known that you'd come up with something this gorgeous!! I love it! I'm with you about the shoes - so many darling old shoes but none to wear. I even have a pair that are pink needlepoint with roses on top! Your post is absolutely gorgeous. Blessings... Polly (p.s. LOVE granny-ish. She's the coolest lady I know!)

Wow, I literally caught my breath when I saw your photos! Not granny-ish at all, just beautiful! And I would love to have an excuse to wear shoes like that!

Thanks for sending so many new readers my way! It still feels rather unreal to me that people from across the ocean are reading about my house and my quirks (for that read "dish obsession")

I'm looking forward to seeing al the yeallow roses!
xoxo,
Mary

Those shoes are 'to die for'. They wouldn't fit my big feet either.
Those dresses are sooo... pretty.

What great photos. I just love roses on anything but I don't have many yellow ones - mine are often blue. They are great in any colour though.

I think if we had to have picked the winner from the amount of posts to their blog you would have won hands down!! You do know I had to finally break down and draw right? It was such a hard decision, I couldn't pick!
I still like looking at these pics:-)

Oh fun, your roses are beautiful and romantic!

Yes, feminine! That's it! If anyone thinks it is granny style, I think grannies are the best. Go grannies!

I really love the shoes! You would make a great stylist!

So beautiful Sophie!!! You have some great, great stuff! And you did a great job arranging it all - you could definitely be a stylist for a fun magazine. So great!! And there's that perfume that I love so much - thanks again for the recommendation on that - I love it.
