When I was 13 a boy at the local disco asked me if I was male or female! I was so thin I had to wear 2 pairs of woolly tight under my skinny leg jeans (yes, they were trendy in the 80's too!) to make them tight!! Oh to have that problem now!
I also stand on one leg to clean my teeth and read until my eyes droop every night, no matter how late it might be.
I love that story!!! I also met my husband in my late 20s, after many years of thinking that I would never meet the right person, would never get married. I think that those of us who waited to find our soul mate appreciate them that much more!
Oh, love that story about how you met Tom! Very sweet. But 29 isn't so old to meet someone. I was 33 when I met George(2 and a half years ago) and had definitely given up hope. Our parents introduced us unbelievably! As for only being 5'2", I'm about that size too and my Mum has always said to me 'nice things come in small packages'. Very occasionally I wish I was a little taller but generally I like being petite which I think is a much nicer way to describe being small!
OMG Sophie, I would have married him too!!! Love that story. I love the crown on the top shelf. Tell me about it. I have this thing for crowns. Your pink teaset is so pretty. Have a wonderful weekend! Rosemary
Hi again Sophie, How great that you can speak other languages. I have been trying to learn French. I can only speak some Spanish and a very tiny bit of Italian. How nice that everything around you is so royal. I like the Sparkley Eiffel Tower too! (anything sparkley) I can't tell you don't be afraid of the flight. You will be with your friends and it will be OK, I'm sure of it! Rosemary
What a lovely way to meet your husband and obviously worth the wait too! You're not that short, my mums's only 4ft 11inches!Nice to find out more about you!

I just found your journal via some blog-hopping and wanted to comment to say how much I enjoyed all the pictures... a little pink will give a smile to anyone on a rough day...
I love a good how-I-met-my husband-story. Your's is so sweet! After 20 years of marriage i found myself suddenly single again, and that was 7 years ago. It's much harder to find Mr. Right at the age of 50! Maybe I should go ry to find some cast offs...could be that I find a treasure instead, like you did. Blessings, and may you have a long blissful marrigae!
Such a sweet story about how you and Tom met! And my husband and I also call each other by nicknames; it seems stilted to call each other by our given names and we usually only do so in the presence of others. Your cupboard is filled with lovely things to cherish!
I love the story of how you met your husband! I met mine thru family. My sister and my husband's brother are married. They had been married for about 10 years when they introduced us to each other. My husband and I have now been married for 18 years (and that means that my sister became my sister-in-law as well!).
I love all your treasures...a wonderful mix of sweet things!
Oh how I loved reading your romantic how we met story! That is such a sweet one. I met Bill in an Interstate Rest Stop...not exactly worthy of a romance novel is it? : )
Oh my goodnes what treasures! I love that pink tea set! I'm only 5ft 2" too, but my best friend is only 4ft 11 inches so I love the fact I feel tall when I'm around her! I'm the same about reading too! I love the story of you and your husbands meeting, how cute! My husband and I met when we were teenages, and it took us 12 years to get around to getting married! We love the fact that we have basically 'grown up' together! Thanks for sharing your little treasure trove of goodies!
I love your dresser and your pink tea set..absolutely gorgeous. And the story of how you met Tom is so sweet! What did you end up creating with the porcelein handles you found in the skip?
Such a lovely dresser full of memories! I love reading about the little "stories" behind all your treasures making them so special. And the story of how you & Tom met is wonderful :-}
Sophie, I love the list you made and am glad to find out more about my friend. I also really like all the wonderful treasures you have in your cupboard. I always enjoy hearing what the little things are, and the story behind them. I especially love the part about how you met Tom. You had told me before, but I liked hearing it again. You are made for eachother and it warms my heart.
Oh how romantic, what a great way to meet someone! I can't sleep either until I've read at least a few words in my book, even if it's 2am... and cookie dough, yeah I'm with you on that one....
Such fun facts! I love your cupboard treasures and do not think it looks cluttered at all. You and Tom have a wonderful romantic story! By the way - you should write your book! You have lots to say and you obviously have a great eye for decor. Karla

What a really wonderful way to meet your husband! Loved reading this post - my 'special drink' is also tia maria and coke (for an extra special kick, add a dash of vodka, which makes it a Black Russian!)
