It's good to come clean about these addictions! I'm a fellow addict too, so you're amongst friends. The wallpaper is lovely so I fully understand your anxiety! I'm afraid I buy fabric with no idea what to do with it other than just sit staring at it! Have a lovely weekend.

Sophie, you and me both! I am mad about Cath Kidston's things and have been known, like you, to buy things before they disappear - even without knowing what I'll do with them. But then I often do that when it comes to home decor things. I figure if I can't come up with a good use for whatever, someone I know will be thrilled to have it.

P.S. It's hard to tell by the size of the photo, but I think your bedroom wall lights are exactly like my bedroom wall lights! 1940s French, aqua glass and gilt candelabras?

I know exactly what you mean about buying something just because! I know I've done that, just can't remember what!

Oh, I could use some of that wallpaper to cover the shades of some nightlights that I bought on clearance. I purchased them about 2 months ago, and they still sit - naked and not plugged in and lit.
Shame on me.

Blessings,
Robin

I said a big WOW when I saw that picture of the paper in your chair. It's a good thing I don't live in England and have access to such temptation. LOL Tom better look out or he's going to find himself behind wallpaper roses some day if he sits still too long!

Beautiful wallpaper - I just with the exchange rate was better and I would buy so much Cath Kidston. Thank you for stopping by Eleanor and Ruby - your email is a no reply so can't email you back!

Sophie,
Glad to see the comment section back. I tried to leave one yesterday.
I love,love, your new wallpaper.
I'm sure you will find a great place for it.
I always get stuff, without having a clue what or where it will be used for. That is the fun of it.
Have a wonderful and fun weekend.

Im always buying things without actually knowing what im going to do with it.., you just never know when you might need (want) it:)!!

I think doing just one wall with wallpaper give a great effect, sometimes these floral prints can be quite overpowering, so one wall is just enough..I LOVE the Cath K wallpaper,!

I confess I buy things all the time for when I do what ever room it is. I currently have in my loft all boxed up a new light fitting and all new bedding, throws, cushions etc for when I decorate our bedroom. I bought them over 12 months ago. AND to make matters worse I have had curtains made and bought new light fittings and bedding for one of the boys room which is also in the loft and has been for about 8 months. Tricia (who is expecting all this to come out of the loft over the school holidays when some decoration will be done)

Hi Sophie, The wallpaper looks lovely. I agree with the one wall idea. In my last house I left behind Sandersons Rose and Peony on the fireplace wall in the living room and a lovely Laura Ashley paper on the fireplace wall in the dining room. Sob sob! I bet the new people stripped it off in no time too. As for things purchased with only a vague idea as to use etc. Yep, I do it all the time.

Sophie, I can totally understand why you would be a Cath-a-holic. I love the wallpaper, and all your many wonderful Cath items!! So cute.

That wallpaper is beautiful...I especially love the roses. I did the master bath in our first home in a really bold floral all over and loved it.

I buy school supplies just because they are bargains. It made sense when there were children and grandchildren in the house. But these will not go to waste. I'm doing a couple of shoe boxes for Smaratian Purse to give to needed children at Christmas. I always loved crayons, pencils, notebooks, and such as a child and expect that other children will love it too. I just did one box last year. For a girl! This year I'm doing two... boy and girl. That was probably the best part of Christmas for me last year!

My daughter is a big Cath Kidston fan too, she gave me a pegbag for Mother's Day a couple of years ago and I treated myself to an ironing board cover recently. I suspect more bits may creep in eventually.

Hello Sophie Honeysuckle,

To answer your question, Yes, We have "Big Brother" in the USA, too! A lot of my neighbors and kinfolk, as well as I get hooked the very first night wondering who will be voted off first. LOL

I still have 4 rolls of wallpaper I bought 6 years ago that I loved - still haven't decided what to do with it (but still love it) LOL!

Glad the comments are back as I wanted to leave one on your last post. I was going to say, have you shown Tom the pictures of Yvonne at 'Yvestowns' Kitchen. She has Cath Kidston wallpaper above her Cooker hood and it looks fab! My addiction is buying fabric that I don't know what to do with. I have piles of the stuff that I enjoy looking at! I've often thought of buying pretty wallpaper even though we currently live in a rented flat and can't do anything to the decoration!

I've done exactly the same as you with wallpaper. I bought the paper for our hall before we even knew if the offer on the house was going to be accepted, it was the biggest bargain ever at 50p a roll! Well not quite ever actually as last year I saw enough vintage wall paper to decorate our bedroom with for just £2.50, of course I bought it but have no idea when / if we will ever use it.

Hi Sophie,

Love the wallpaper, I'm impressed you limited yourself to just the 2 rolls!

Thanks to you I'm now the proud owner of 2 candy stripe pillowcases, thanks for the tip!

Looking forward to more kitchen pics, what a transformation - were you not even slightly tempted to keep the lovely dark wood units!!

Hi Sophie

I really enjoyed the Kitchen Before and After post, but was unable to post a comment! Don't worry, it took me ages to add my first link and I am still changing the blog settings!

The wallpaper is very pretty and maybe one day soon, you will show us where you chose to hang it.

Buy things just because they are a bargain.... only all the time!

The wallpapers look so sweet. I love Cath Kidston too and have just ordered two cake tins on the summer sale. But they won't be used for cakes. More like for storage on my bedroom. :)
I can't wait to see how you are going to use the wallpapers.

Hi, Sofie, lovely wallpaper!, yes I too have several rolls of wallpaper stashed away, waiting to go up somewhere in the house, including a couple of rolls of a lovely blue feather design from laura ashley for only £1.50 a roll!
Since you mentioned it, I wondered if you would like me to tell you how to create a link in your posts?
if you send me an email to jessica_d_wright@hotmail.com then I will send you a tutuorial because I've tried typing it in here but it just turns into a link.

I'm a Cath-oholic too!
I've bought fabric for curtains and walls which I don't have too. In fact, i've never regretted it but I am haunted by the times I DIDN'T buy such bargains.
In fact, I am already buying stuff for the dream house in the country that we will have someday.

And I do stupid things to my blog too. Things disappear and reappear all over the place.

Your kitchen is looking lovely. Glad that green sink has gone. If I may say, that was truly revolting!

Morning from a very hot and steamy Dallas! So glad that we can leave comments! I just LOVE your style -- and your new kitchen is just wonderful! Your DH is a marvel! I do buy things before I know exactly where I'll be using them -- BUT -- somehow they just find a spot to live in this small house too!

Did bought cath kidston polka dots wallpaper not knowing where it would end up(and very afraid that I would never ever see another rolli bought it, how irrational is that?), and just put it up 10 months after!I am a kidstonmaniac too, the colours always look fresh and soft!

Me again....I have lots of catching up to do with being away.

I share your Cath Kidston wallpaper addiction. I have several rolls that I just recently got for $11 each. I have absolutely no idea where I am going to use them but for right now I am enjoying them propped in a wire basket in my craft room.

oh sophie, umm, I am seriously jealous that wallpaper is so delicious, I have 6 rolls of wallpaper (not so pretty or exspensive) I bought 5 years ago cause they were end of line so I totally understand.
